Eliminating the ground rush

Racing TSX’s at the Mid Ohio Race School

Hold the revs
Drop the clutch
Smoke the tires

Now, wide open throttle
The start finish straight
It is the Turn one approach

Entry, apex and exit
It all matters now
Feed the steering, slowly

The yaw builds
Steady state transients
The rear steps out, rather quickly

So, react. Counter steer.
Not too much
Turn two goes the other way

Will you compromise?
Your braking point
For a cleaner exit?

Then brake, brake hard
Before the turn
Not during and not after

Down shift, 3rd or 4th!
Watch the revs
Shift before the limiter hits

The elevation changes
Watch you inners
The camber is now clutch

And finally, look ahead
Anticipate the next turn
Turn with your mind

Look so far ahead
Make the boundaries disappear
Let the track become you

Eliminate the fear
Eliminate the doubt
Eliminate the ground rush

  • Nikhil : It was simply fantastic. First time on a professional race track and having pro drivers teach was a good thing to start with. But having A Spec TSX’s to race all day was just brilliant. Completely redeemed my car buying decision!

I highly recommend a track day but would stay away from pushing your car. Mostly for the wear and tear and other because it would be blasphemy with your kind of transmission.

Avanti: Yes, There is just no other 🙂

  • I just loved the last 9 lines…they seem to say it all. Thats wat its all abt. Nothing more, nothing else.
