Decision Dramatics – An underrated act.

The keys were ready. So were the papers. All that was left now was for Mr. Awfully Slow to make decision as to which car to drive away with. He knew this decision was long time coming but still struggled to make it. Now slowly, the two cars would no longer be available if he held out any longer. Aw, short for Awfully, was considerably troubled.

To introduce the cast further;

The sensible car ‘Piscean’ or P

The more passionate, less sensible car ‘Scorpio’ or S

The dream car ‘Leo’ or L

It was not his fault really. Both cars, P and S, looked like a great deal. And when he leant towards one set of four wheels, the next morning he got up to a different story.

On one hand, was P, that would serve him extremely well…Amongst sensible car owners he would be greatly looked upon. The car had no extravagant styling but held its beauty well. Same was the case with the performance. The mileage was respectable and he knew he would save more on the gas bills. Aw also knew that this car would not be with him forever. He was merely looking at it to keep for a year, get the most out of it and then switch a more exciting machine, namely L. There was, however, a very possible outcome that he might not be able to make such a switch in the future. He knew very well that the future was not his to see. This could keep him away from the car he really wanted… A car that he was really passionate about…

On the other, he held keys to much more exciting and dynamic vehicle, S. The features and options on this car matched his interests more than P. Aw was excited with the prospect of owning such a car outright. But he also shuddered at the thought that if he did buy S he would not get to drive on the roads he really wanted to. The mileage costs were also very severe. Not to mention the high cost of insurance. Perhaps, the only point that kept this car alive in his mind was the fact he had a much better shot of getting upgraded to his dream car if he waited long enough, let us not forget the great L.

Both P and S ,while offering great features, held very serious pitfalls within them. Mr.Aw was now fed up and looked to many sources to make an informed decision. But as luck and the world would have it, he found supporters for both cars in equal numbers. Oh! Why could they not let him drive S on the roads P could??

They say a good decision is made in quickest time. In that respect, no matter what he chose he had already lost. What remained then was to make sure he never looked back after he roared out of the lot, S or P,towards the one and only …L!!
