For the brave will live forever

Christopher Nolan impressed my senses with a stunning “Memento”. I have nothing but gratitude for him now after his latest venture “Batman Begins”

For a batman fan like me, it was thrilling to see him re create the darkness of the Character and the city he is trying to save. Every previous movie on Batman lost this point, which on the other hand was repeatedly stressed in the comic books. Christian Bale, undoubtedly, seems like the best Batman ever.

Like the new crisper logo, the entire story is well laid out with plenty of explanations to those who haven’t read the comic books. For those of us who did, the movie will delight us by taking us back to those lazy afternoons on the couch.

The new bat mobile seems much more capable of handling itself on the city streets than the previous low slung versions. The direction has been fantastic with plenty of memorable scenes. The cast definitely is best the as yet for a Batman movie.

But above all, the movie managed to send through the real essence of this super hero. Of his dark sides and secrets. Of his fear. Of his dedication to destroying the evil. Of a brave mortal who will live forever.

  • Sorry to crash in on the party. But I was quite disgusted with the movie. Was it a superhero story or a martial arts flick or a zombie action movie?
And the frail, old Michael Caine clubbing down the League of Shadows “warrior” was undoubtedly the best part.

  • Nikhil, you are always welcome to my parties.

First up, my arguement was that this movie was far superior to those who came before. Second, as to explain what kind of movie it was, i am not sure anybody needs to answer that.

Surely you cant hate a movie since you could not classify it? Can kill bill be classified?

Batman is a human being who would need to be trained in the best of martial arts to kick ass well. Also as far as the butler goes, i remember reading in the comic book that he was a medic in the WW2.

Yet, i guess , to each one his own. Maybe superman is more your thing..

  • Hey Dude!

well…i did intend to see the movie…n ur review has just added fuel to the fire…though when i will is still a mystery…
must have been good to see batman in a proper bat suit this time arnd (minus the nipples!!!)…the last few movies had turned him into a comic caped crusader rather than leave him to be wat he is – our without-any-superpowers superhero.

    cheers – pallavi
